About Me

  A little about me. 

  My name is Geannii, I was married to my best friend, Van for 44 years.  He went to live with the Lord 2/10/22. 

    My daughter-in-law's daddy lost his wife a few years ago, he said, the best advice he received, keep busy.

    I could stay home, curled up in bed with the covers over my head, woe is me, my life is over. 

 I can wear my long black dress with a big hat and a heavy veil... leaning on anyone will support me. I am a widow. woe is me.

   Or

   I can hike up my bra straps and lift my head, strap my darling husband safely in my heart to continue the adventures we shared in life.  I chose the latter. 

   I traded our eight year old Silverado pickup in for a brand new 2022 Equinox with all the bells and whistles.

   This thing has a cameras, it has sensors. Driving down the road, I got too close to the fog line, it gently took the wheel and got me on the road..  I steered it toward the center line, it took the wheel and brought me back to center.  Wow. If it's so danged smart... I took my hands off the wheel... it beeped and flashed some lights and flashed a warning at me. "Take the Wheel" Take the Wheel"

     The first morning I went to get in it, it had ice on it. Will it  let me drive today with ice?  I turned it on. "Warning! Ice is present. Dangerous driving conditions."

                                                       Unrestrained Travis    My brother Travis came to visit,  the same week, my mother-in-law passed away.    Perfect time for my kids to get to see Uncle Travis.    The morning of the funeral, we went to breakfast, Travis, my son, Montana,  daughter, son- in- law, grandsons and sister.    We googled a good place to eat near me. The Apple Barrel came up. 4.7 stars. Really Just TWO?

 Camping is the life especially when I am the guest and others are responsible for all the work.    We woke up to the sound of a high wind rocking the camper, then a huge crash! We left the awning up.      No reason to take it down, it was a beautiful balmy summer evening, so hot we hated to abide by the no generators after eleven pm.  We suffered in... not silence as we all sweated and flopped around to get more comfortable.       Finally a bit of  relief as the wind quickly cooled everything down, then the huge crash! Oh no!    The Awning pole is bent just a little.  Pam's  #4 son quickly helped us get it down. May as well stay up we are all drenched from the sudden rain.     Sweet  son #4 so thoughtful and kind brought us milk and cereal for breakfast. No bowls, oops. He found a huge fruit bowl. Bob (I mean Rowdy #2)

I love my grandsons . Sometimes I have to make difficult decisions, watch a movie with my daughter or play a game with the grandsons. The grandsons win every time of course.  We were playing Sequence, Rowdy #2 was bored and distracted by the third turn. I said hey Jimmy, John, Joe (the list of names when we can't think of the right one.)  "Just call me Bob." Rowdy #2 said and laughed.  Bob it is!  After he quit the game, we continued to call him Bob . It was no longer funny to Rowdy #2, he asked us politely to stop, "that isn't my name."   "Sure we will... Bob!" There may have been a little bit of wine involved, (who am I kidding, there was a lot of wine involved.)  We went a little too far calling him Bob . Upset, Rowdy #2 flew up stairs to get away for a bit.  I really felt bad, this is my grandbaby, he may be 13 years old, but he is precious to me.
