Adventure to Kansas City KS

   Spring Break!

   I have to work! Bummer!!

My co-worker said if I wanted to go see my grandsons, he can handle things. I didn't need to be told twice. I grabbed my pre-packed bag, threw it in the back of my SUV, filled with no ethanol gas and hit the road.

I called my daughter on the way. I'm coming up for the week-end.

I knew she'd be so thrilled to have her mom come visit... NOT.

Yeah I forgot, she works full time and the house with two boys, three counting the kid she is married to... She'd have liked a little more notice than "I'm on my way."

I said do not worry about your house. I am coming to see you and the boys! She breathed a sigh of relief, especially after I told her, I left my house needing a good tidying.  She asked about my housekeeper, Allison doesn't live with me, and I haven't wanted to do more than grab take out and toss my fork in the sink. (I am the dishwasher, as I don't have one of those nice gadgets.)

A trip through the car wash, OnStar called you really need to set this up. How did they know I am on my very first adventure? They ARE listening. lol.  I now have 3 months of free OnStar, they are traveling with me.

Fiddling with the radio, I felt the wheel gently put me back on the road.. nice. I really like that feature.  Someone passed me and cut in a little too close, my car braked to make a gap. Impressive. The dealer said 32 MPG average. I figured I could get 36 with the better gas... I got into KC and my computer said 40 mpg was my average!! I'm impressed.

SIL didn't want to go out. the boys wanted Cheesecake Factory. He ordered home delivery. (I'm still learning about all these new services people provide.) $200.00 for 5 people... and we are NOT in Vegas! SIL dropped the cheese cakes and drinks, and the bill dropped 100.00 dollars.

Rowdy #2 came in this morning. "Yeah a free day with no adults!" (Wait what am I?)

Rowdy #1 already had his shower without begging.

They are ready for an adventure. We went to get donuts. I told them they could each have two. They did not tell me, one is the size of a small truck wheel.

Mom came home, "How much sugar did you have?"

How did she know? It could not be, because his eyes were spinning from so much sugar, and he was bouncing like a kangaroo on crack.
