Don't touch the Light Switch

 

My brother, Buddy invited me to come and visit.
 (He lost his partner of eighteen years,  nine months after I lost my husband.)
 I love his patio, I could live here and I do most of the time I'm with him.

    One day, he left to check on something  leaving me home alone. (He forgot I kind of need a little supervision.)

   Sun shining bright throughout the house. I went to shut off the kitchen light, I flipped every light switch I found. Nothing.

   Oh maybe it's a Google house.  I tried saying the magic words "Hey Google Kitchen light off. Siri kitchen light off.  Alexa kitchen light off. " Nothing happened. Then I found the light switch hidden behind the back door. I flipped it and got side tracked as Buddy drove in.

   I left to get us some lunch, when I got home, Buddy had an electrician going through all the wiring in the three car garage. For some reason, we no longer have power to the patio or garage.

   Strange...

   Then he asked me, "You didn't flip any of the switches behind the back door did you?"

    How much trouble am I in? All I did was turn off the kitchen light, right? I went in the house. the kitchen light is still ON. I looked behind the door, both light switches are in the off position. 

   I forgot about the electrician working in the garage. I flipped both of them on. I heard a yell...

   I ran out to see how dead the electrician might be, he is family after all, or was... 

   Electrician was fine. He was excited by some miracle we have electricity back in the garage and patio. 

  What they won't know... won't hurt me.

 Camping is the life especially when I am the guest and others are responsible for all the work.    We woke up to the sound of a high wind rocking the camper, then a huge crash! We left the awning up.      No reason to take it down, it was a beautiful balmy summer evening, so hot we hated to abide by the no generators after eleven pm.  We suffered in... not silence as we all sweated and flopped around to get more comfortable.       Finally a bit of  relief as the wind quickly cooled everything down, then the huge crash! Saga of the Hat

Saga of the Hat     Going to the beach at Tybee Island, we need a hat. Keep our wrinkles and lines just where they are, no adding family members.    At a flea market in Anderson IN. I bought a huge floppy monstrosity of a hat. Not my thing. I don’t want my lines making friends. It will do.      First day at Tybee Island, I realized I did not bring enough shorts for the beach. I went in search of new shorts. What I found was the perfect hat. White straw with a black band. This is me.   Twenty dollars later, I am wearing my new hat. I am a happy Professional Tourist!     My new hat is a tad loose, no problem, I have a sewing kit somewhere. (That was the key word somewhere...) Pam came to the rescue with her sewing kit. I put a few stitches inside the lining band and tightened it up.  After a few experiments with the breeze... and more stitches I had  enough to keep the hat secured to my head. Proof... Lost You Are

  I was on my way home from my friend's house two hours away. Van always drove us, now I use my GPS.    I called my sister to visit while driving home, as I talked to her, I mentioned, I don't remember Road construction on the way down here.     My GPS was strangely silent, not saying a word, like she was gagged or something. I poked the button... Apparently someone forgot to put in an address... no wonder she wasn't yelling at me!    Valerie: "Sounds like you're lost."   Me: "Nope I'm still on the road heading north, I'm not lost, know right where I am...
